5 Christmas songs the @BackstreetBoys should cover or record

by | Dec 10, 2018 | Backstreet Boys, Boy Bands, Music, Pop Music, Top Lists | 0 comments

Now, I’m not a very holiday person. When I was younger, I loved Christmas because all of my cousins got together and it was just fun. As an adult? It’s kind of just another day that I now have off work thanks to my new job.

I’m also one of those people who isn’t praying for a Backstreet Boys Christmas album. Now, before you throw anything at me, I’m just typically not into Christmas music. I love “It’s Christmas Time Again” because it’s original and it’s the boys. They could sing the phone book and I would love it.

But while watching a preview of the boys on the Penatonix Christmas special, I got to thinking about the fact that one day they may record a Christmas album.

What songs would I like for them to record? Here are five that I think they would sound amazing covering.

“Blue Christmas” by Elvis Presley

If anybody could sing a Christmas song and make me like it, it’s either the Backstreet Boys or Elvis Presley. This song, with the boys harmonies and AJ’s sexy voice, it would be killer.

“All I Want For Christmas” by Mariah Carey

It’s probably totally insane for me to even LIST this song, but I would love to hear the Backstreet Boys’ take on it. I think Nick’s voice, singing a range higher like he does he some songs lately, would be amazing. Plus Howie’s falsetto? Yeah

“Last Christmas” by Wham!

I have always wanted to see the Backstreet Boys sing “Wake Me Up (Before You Go Go)” for some unknown reason, so it’s only natural for me to want to see them cover Wham!’s “Last Christmas.” Did you know it made it onto the Billboard charts this year for the first time EVER? It was released in the early 80s!

“Christmas Means I Love You” by Garth Brooks

I know this isn’t a traditional Christmas song, but it’s cute and fun, kind of like “It’s Christmas Time Again.” Except, well, it’s got a little twang, but hey, they won a country award so they can do this! Even better if it’s with Mr. Garth Brooks.

“I Won’t Be Home For Christmas” by Blink 182

Okay, so it’s pretty much an anti-Christmas song, but wouldn’t it be interesting, fun and down-right entertaining to see the boys sing the lyrics to this song?

It’s Christmas time again
Time to be nice to people you can’t stand …

YAAAAS!
