News: Backstreet Boys ‘Millennium’ Charts on Billboard After 24 Years

The Backstreet Boys released the 25th anniversary edition of their second U.S. album (third worldwide), Millennium, on July 11, 2025—bringing the iconic record back to the Billboard charts. With the release of Millennium 2.0, the album returned to the Billboard 200 for the first time in 24 years, having last appeared on the chart in March 2001.

While Millennium 2.0 isn’t charting as a separate release—since the core 12-track album is a remastered version of the original—it contributes to the overall sales of Millennium. Though the reissue includes unreleased bonus material in the U.S. and a brand-new song, it doesn’t classify as a new release.

Still, seeing the album return to the charts 26 years after its original release on May 18, 1999, is a true testament to its legacy—and to how the Backstreet Boys became Larger Than Life.

Here’s where Millennium landed on various Billboard charts for the week of July 26, 2025:

Billboard 200 #29
Top Album Sales #5
Catalog albums #3 – peak position.

Vinyl Albums #9 – peak position.

Over in Canada the album reached #99 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart.

Hits Daily Double tracks sales and streaming. Millennium debuted in their Hits Top 50 chart at #25. The album sold 15,224 copies, 315 TEA (Track Equivalent Album, meaning every 10 songs purchased digitally from an album equals one album), and SEA (Streaming Equivalent Albums) 5,158. Totaling to 20,698.
