Remembering Aaron Carter

By now I’m sure everyone has heard the tragic news that Nick Carter’s brother, Aaron Carter, sadly passed away at his home. The news broke Saturday, November 5, 2022. If anyone wants further information there are other news outlets that are posting about this as they’re still investigating his death. I didn’t want to make this post all about his death. I wanted to post my thoughts into what I saw in the last few years. As well as sharing a few fun moments to remember him by. This wasn’t an easy post to write. I bought albums Aaron had released in the U.S. between 2000-2003. It was difficult watching videos to add to this post as well.

Nick stated in his post on Instagram the day after the news broke, which you can read here, that he and Aaron had a complicated relationship. As a fan you saw this through social media especially Aaron’s. I’ve seen him praise Nick, show support, love, and how grateful he was to have Nick as a brother. Other times that wasn’t the case. Thinking back to everything he said he likely dealt with mental illness for years that contributed to his ups and downs. He would look very ill and frail at times. It was alarming and you always hoped he would get help. Up until he passed away I always hoped he would. It was evident that the person we saw on social media in the past few years was not who he really is. Even if Aaron live streamed his life daily, you just never know what someone is going through.

Aaron recently live streamed on TikTok talking about Nick. Singing along to “Shape Of My Heart,” saying how Nick is a good singer, that he loves his brother, and has his back. They had their ups and downs, but in the end they still loved one another. Nick also stated similar sentiments in his Instagram post. You can watch this video on Twitter. I wanted to share this to show that despite everything Aaron still loved Nick and supported him. Thanks to Rue_crossings for capturing this moment.

When Aaron started releasing music from his Love album in 2016 I wasn’t sure what to expect. It had been many years since he released any new music since his “Another Earthquake” album. The album was released in 2018 and the songs were actually good. It was impressive and a major growth from his previous albums. It also seemed that he was in a good place and doing well at that time. Aaron even stated at one time that Nick wanted to record ‘Fool’s Gold.’ An indication that Nick was impressed by his newer music. The full album can be found on streaming platforms. Here are a few singles from that album.

Many other artists, and those who knew him spoke about him since his passing. Calling Aaron funny, smart, loved playing pranks, and talented. Lina Valentina, who dated Aaron in 2019, posted about who he was while sober on Instagram. It was quite heartbreaking to watch Aaron in her video. He seemed like a different person then.

RIP Aaron. You are now no longer in pain and free of the villains that made you suffer. I hope you are at peace now and reunited with your sister Leslie and father. You will be missed. To Nick, Angel, and BJ we know this isn’t easy, but you have our love and support during this difficult time.

Just like Nick, Angel, and others who have shared fun, happy moments with Aaron, I wanted to do the same.
