The days of yonder where we buy a CD from the store and just listen to it in our car, boombox, computer, or even that big stereo that we got for Christmas are no longer.
It’s all about streaming.
For instance, Taylor Swift broke records this past weekend for her new CD, “Midnights,” and is likely to have the Top 10 songs in the country when the new charts come out.
While I know we are not as strong as the Swifties or the BTS Army, we are strong. Remember? We were an Army long before BTS (much props to them!).
It’s time for us to get serious about this streaming thing. If we want the boys to continue to top the charts, or at least the Top 10, we have to learn how to stream. Going out and buying two or three CDs isn’t going to cut it against the younger generation of artists or fans.
We compiled a bunch of information from various sources about what to do and not to do when it comes to streaming. It shows that paid accounts count more than free accounts. It shows what not to do on iTunes or Spotify when you’re streaming.
We can compete with these other fans. I know we can. The guys know we can.
