#AskTheFangirl: What are Backstreet Boys soundchecks like?

by | Nov 26, 2017 | Ask The Fangirl | 0 comments

The latest edition of #AskTheFangirl is here and there’s some more Backstreet Boys questions, which is always a good thing.

Hey there … what are the guys like in person and what is like to be at soundchecks? I wish I could go to one of those one day ?. – Danielle / @Bsbhansonlover

Backstreet Boys soundcheck on the NKOTBSB tour July 22, 2011.

First off, soundchecks are pretty damn cool. We haven’t had any since the “In A World Like This” tour, but they seem to get better year after year. You watch the guys do soundcheck, which is them performing songs to practice and then there’s usually banter on stage. Then most likely you get to ask questions. The Wonderful Union VIP host (usually Justin and Eddie in the past) will go around with a microphone.

Meeting the guys though, it’s pretty cool. I mean, you look at and love these guys for so long that when they are finally in front of you and sometimes you don’t know what to say. For me, thankfully I wasn’t a fan for 20 years before I met Nick, just 4 or 5 years. That first meeting wasn’t at a soundcheck, but it was a little intimidating meeting the others for the first time, especially Kevin.

Favorite Backstreet Boys moment? –  Jessica / @Jucka88

There’s so many. I guess the main one is when the guys got their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and celebrated their 20th anniversary. I’m sure next year, my favorite will be celebrating 25 years on the cruise.

As for a moment that I was there for, it was probably being there for the taping of CMT Crossroads with Florida Georgia Line. That was a dream come true for me to see them on that show and doing country music.

Will you be doing more of the Intro post for other groups? I liked the one you did on BSB.  – Sandra

Yep, I plan on it! Don’t know who to do next. Maybe one on solo Nick or New Kids on the Block 🙂
