Nick Carter obviously got bitten by the judging bug after “Dancing with the Stars” a few weeks ago.
ABC announced Tuesday that Carter, along with Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) from Spice Girls would judge, or “be architects” on the new summer show “Boy Band” where guys would compete to be in a brand new boy band. Bunton and Carter will be more like mentors to the people vying for a spot in the band, kind of like “The Voice.” No word on whether there will be any more “architects.”
The final group will get a record deal with Hollywood Records.

Singer and actress Rita Ora (“50 Shades of Grey” movie franchise) will be host. Ora recently hosted “America’s Next Top Model.” Original host Tyra Banks is coming back on board for that show.
The show, according to Variety, will have 10 episodes and will air sometime this summer.
Besides “Dancing with the Stars,” Carter also was a guest judge on the “American Idol” knock off, “American Junior” in the early 2000s where actress and singer Lucy Hale first got her start.
UPDATED: Rita Ora said on the Billboard Music Awards magenta carpet that the show will begin June 22 on ABC.
