Thankful Tuesday: Did we ever thank @BackstreetBoys for their movie? ‘Cause, thanks boys…

This past weekend after my girl Lacy messaged me and the other girls that she was watching the Backstreet Boys’ documentary, “Show ‘Em What You’re Made Of,” I got the urge to watch it, too.

Because, you know, I haven’t already watched it 500,000,000 times.

But in a way, I was watching it with fresh eyes. It’s probably been six months or a year since I last watched the documentary and it opened my eyes to a few new things that I started thinking about.

Mainly, did we ever thank the boys for sharing their story? I’m sure most of us have, but I got to thinking about the fact that come this April, they have been together for 24 years. That’s more than half of my and Nick’s life (we are the same age). It’s almost a third of our lives.

They did not have to start filming themselves recording in London, much less take us on a journey of rediscovering who they are individually and as a group. From Kevin and Nick’s tears to Brian focusing on his voice, AJ and his sobriety and Howie’s lead vocals, we got to see parts of the boys that you don’t see during a VIP or on stage.

So, Kevin, Nick, Howie, AJ and Brian, thank you. Thank you for opening yourself up and share more than you ever had to with us fans. Thank you for caring enough about us to want to share those things.

And better yet, thank you for showing the world that Backstreet’s not back – you never left us.
