The song that came in at number two on the Top 20 Favorite Backstreet Boys songs of all time, as voted on by fans, almost came in at number one. It was beat out by two votes from the song that came in at number one (that pretty much everybody can guess what it is now).
“Show ‘Em What You’re Made Of” is not only the name of the guy’s last single from “In A World Like This,” but it’s also the title of their upcoming documentary. The song was written by Kevin Richardson and AJ McLean, along with Morgan Taylor Reid and Mika Guillory.
Richardson got the idea for the title of the song from some words of wisdom that his late father would tell him.
My dad right before I was getting ready to go to football practice, he would say, ‘Show ‘em what you’re made of bud!’ That’s kind of how that song got inspired.Another inspiration for A.J. and I writing this song was our children. The innocence and wonder in their eyes is so precious. I want them to keep it forever and I want to rediscover it within myself. No limits, no fear.
