Now that we’re into the Top 5 Backstreet Boys songs voted on by fans, let’s take a moment to think about the next four songs. These are the four songs that Backstreet Boys fans love the most.
The song that was voted into the number four spot is “Drowning,” the one original song that was released on the group’s 2001 greatest hits package, “Chapter One: The Hits.” This was their last release before a two-year hiatus from 2002-2004
“Drowning” was written by Andreas Carlsson, Rami Yacoub and Linda Thompson. Linda Thompson is better known as the former girlfriend of Elvis Presley and mother of Brandon and Brody Jenner (she later married Bruce Jenner and then songwriter/producer David Foster).
The song was marketed to country radio stations and even played a few times on CMT (Country Music Television). There were also two country remixes of the song that found their way to the internet, also.
The video for the song was shot twice, with the original version turning out badly with horrible CGI effects. The second version of the video was shot by Nigel Dick, who directed their previous videos “As Long As You Love Me” and “All I Have To Give.”
