Top Moments of 2015

by | Dec 20, 2015 | Thoughts, Year in Review | 0 comments

This is the beginning of my yearly countdowns, which will feature other countdowns until the beginning of 2016.

This year, unlike many other years, has been kind of quiet for me in way of moments. I haven’t gone on a lot of tours or anything like that. It was a year of change.

  1. My new job

Moving to Marietta and beginning work at my new job was probably the best moment of 2015. It meant a fresh start and to work with people that I actually like and respect me.  Plus I love living so close to Atlanta.

  2. Maroon 5

Julia and I went to see Maroon 5 in February and it fully turned me into a huge fan. I’ve always been a huge Maroon 5 fan (of the music) since they first came out, but this finally did me in. We had pit, right on the shaft and it was AMAZING.

  3. New Kids on the Block / Nelly / TLC

Finally getting to see TLC in concert after 20+ years of being a fan was definitely one of my favorite moments. Yeah, having VIP for NKOTB and second row seats right in the middle of the stage was amazing, but seeing a group that I always loved, especially in middle school was great. Plus my Mom got to see NKOTB for the second time after taking me to see them when I was in fourth grade for my very first concert.

  4. Thomas Rhett / Florida Georgia Line – “Anything Goes” Tour

There is nothing like seeing Thomas Rhett in concert. Every time I see him, he’s grown as an artists and Julia and I had been waiting for this concert for what seemed like forever. We got lots of TR love (especially her) and it was officially our last concert of the year.

  5. Booking the 2016 BSB Cruise

The last thing I thought I would be doing this year is booking a European cruise with the Backstreet Boys, but thanks to Mara, I got talked into it and it was a good decision. Sure, I left my job the next week and didn’t know how I was going to pay for it, but it all worked out. And now Hannah is going.

  6. Finding myself again

For so long, I felt like I had to make everybody else happy and I’ve finally realized and decided that it’s not about beating everybody else to do something or being someone that I’m not. It’s about being the person I want to be. For the past few years I’ve tried to be someone I wasn’t because I thought if I kept my mouth shut about things, everybody would like me or there would be no drama. That didn’t work out very well. I’ve prioritized myself and the things I do. I’ve started writing for the Backstreet Boys official site some. Focusing more on the social media aspect of the fandom has given me more pleasure than having a website. Focusing more on my new job has given me more pleasure.

    7. Front row for Carter in Nashville

Sure, Nick Carter isn’t coming to Atlanta, but I never thought he would. He has never done a solo show in Atlanta or Georgia except for the show in Valdosta back in 2003 that I got him booked for. My girls and I were able to get front row seats at the front of the stage before they even went on sale to the public. And we can’t wait.
