Why a @BackstreetBoys Choreography Work Out Video Needs to be a Thing

by | Jan 25, 2020 | Backstreet Boys, Boy Bands, Music, Opinion, Pop Music, Thoughts | 3 comments

It’s a new year. New year, new you, right?  Yep, same old, same old, time to get back into the gym and into your workout routine. Well, I am being serious about it in 2020, anyway.

I renewed my gym membership, I got my new Asics sneakers, and stylish new leggings to show off at the gym. Yet, here’s the problem: doing cardio before any type of strength training or classes just flat out SUCKS.

I head to the gym straight from work, and I know that it’s necessary to get on the treadmill for at least 45 minutes of cardio before I head to my favorite Les Mills BodyPUMP class. Running and walking on the treadmill can be so boring, especially when you have to do it every day.  Most people have their gym playlists to help curb the boredom; which includes all kinds of music from hard rock, rap, or dance music. But not me.

The only music keeping me happily running on the treadmill is the Backstreet Boys music, of course.

While on the treadmill the other day, I was walking on a steep incline and “We’ve Got It Goin’ On” came on. Before I knew it, I was jamming out, in front of everyone, rockin’ the hand motions of the choreography and not having a care in the world who was watching, because I was L-I-V-I-N-G.

I didn’t care so much about wanting to fall off the treadmill and die anymore because I was having too much fun in my BSB world, when it hit me:  THE BACKSTREET BOYS NEED TO RELEASE A WORK OUT VIDEO FEATURING THEIR CHOREOGRAPHY (with them featured in the video, of course).

This is a genius idea, right? I would be HAPPY to get the cardio portion of my work out in for the day while knocking out the most iconic of Backstreet Boys choreography.

Think about it: work out sessions with your friends (or solo), learning (okay yes we admit that we all already know it but you get the picture) all the dance moves to “Everybody”, “We’ve Got It Goin’ On”, “Get Down”, “Larger Than Life”, “All I Have to Give” (they could even throw the iconic fedora dance in with it), and “I’ll be the One”.

The “As Long As You Love Me” chair dance could even be a bonus at the end! I know some people truly look forward to working out every day, but I can’t say I’m at that point. I do it because it’s necessary to live a healthy lifestyle as I get older. Some days, it’s like pulling teeth for me to go to the gym, especially when it’s time for cardio. I don’t know about all of you, but this would make me WANT to work out every day.

What do you think?  Would a Backstreet Boys Choreography Work Out Video change your mindset on getting your daily work out in?  What songs/choreography would you want the Boys to include? Let me know in the comments!
