June 30, 1997 – I was 23 years old (soon to be 24 on July 2, 1997) and in love with a boyband. Well… to be totally honest I was only in love with Brian Littrell and the Backstreet Boys released a brand new song internationally.
That means one thing.
Happy 23rd birthday to Backstreet Boys “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)”. Now you do the math. I am going to be a 47-year-old fangirl.
To celebrate the release of Everybody I want to share with you my Top 5 favorite performances of “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)”
I love how the boys walk down the stairs together. The choreography for this performance is perfect. We get the extra dance break before the song is finished.
Let’s start off by saying the location was gorgeous. Looks like it was a beautiful day. 2nd I am happy it was a very casual performance with No matching outfits. AJ in goggles, a choker and braids is something you don’t forget.
The last show of the Las Vegas Larger Than Life Residency. I WAS THERE. It was the most emotional I’ve been seeing the boys live. I saw the show 4 prior times, but this last song brought me to tears. The fans were amazing that night. It felt different than any other night.
I am a fan of Seth Rogen. I’ve seen quite a few of his movies. But this one I missed seeing until I heard about the ending. EPIC… the boys in White and Turquoise??? Lord have mercy.
It was the end of summer. The boys had just got off the road from the successful DNA World Tour. They had some time off before heading to Hawaii to wrap up the 1st leg of the North American dates. The boys look HOT as HELL in the black and white coordinated outfits. Each boy looked relaxed and had a blast on the stage.
Of course I do realize I am TWICE the age of this song. But I will never get tired of hearing it either live or on the radio.
Here is my BONUS favorite performance. Joseph Khan directed video for “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back). Back when I was MUCH younger, I didn’t realize that Kevin was wearing a shirt that was open and practically backless. All this 46-year-old fangirl can say today is “Thank Heaven for Kevin”.
