Ginger Carter, Bob Carter’s wife, was arrested Thursday at 6:55 p.m. in Chautauqua, New York after a traffic stop.

Bob Carter is the father to Backstreet Boy Nick Carter and former pop star Aaron Carter.

According to The Post-Journal, police were responding to another incident when they saw that Carter failed to signal a turn.

After more investigation, it was revealed that Carter’s inability to operate the vehicle was due to drugs and police charged her on failure to signal a turn, felony DWAI-drugs, aggravated unlicensed operation and operating without an ignition interlock device. She was arraigned on the charges in Chautauqua Town Court Friday morning and will appear in court on Sept. 19, according to reports.

The felony charge comes from her previous history of being convicted of a DWI-related offense in the past 10 years, police and newspapers reported.

In January 2012, Carter appeared to be under the influence of drugs after the death of her stepdaughter, Leslie and was taken to a hospital to be treated for a possible overdose.  In Feburary 2012, Carter was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent according to The Post-Journal.

Later that year, on May 16, Carter was sent to jail on charges of endangering the welfare of a child, fourth-degree criminal mischief, seventh-degree criminal possession of controlled substance and second-degree harassment.

According to the Westfield Republican and the Sheriff’s Office, Carter was charged after an alleged incident at her home in Chautauqa.

Note: Aaron Carter was listed in the title of the post due to the fact that it’s unclear if Nick even has any contact with that side of his family due to the fact that none attended his wedding.
